Create your own dogs of distinction

Try teaming Uncle John’s Hot Dogs with the versatile range of Lion sauces to create some of our favourite ideas inspired by current food trends.

Tropical Dog: Mix Lion Cool Salsa Sauce with a dash of Mango Chutney or Lion’s new Mango Coulis, and add to the customer’s choice of chopped peppers, sweetcorn, red onion, smoked ham, mushrooms and other toppings. It’s salty, sweet and invigorating.

Kentucky Hot Brown Dog: Wrap the dog in crispy bacon and serve alongside thinly sliced turkey and a choice of piquant Blue Cheese Dressing or creamy Caesar Dressing, for a delicious clash of creamy and smokey flavours.

Paella Dog: Paella purists, look away now – because this brings together a fiesta of flavours that are proudly inauthentic! Mix prawns, chicken and crispy diced chorizo with Cool Salsa Sauce and a splash of white wine. Buen Provecho!

Calzone Dog: For this Italian take on the corn dog, place a hot dog on rolled-out pizza dough, smother with Cajun and Tomato Dressing, mozzarella cheese, chopped veg, meat or seafood, add a sprinkle of oregano, roll it all up and bake until the dough is golden brown. Serve with a choice of sauces, such as Lion’s Smokey BBQ, Very Hot Chilli Sauce or Buttermilk Dressing. Mamma mia!

Poutine Dog: Chips are down for the on-trend foodies – now it’s all about the poutine. Make a meal of it by topping a hot dog with crispy shoestring fries, grated cheese, gravy, plus a choice of extra dressings, from hot and earthy Horseradish Sauce to cool and silky Sour Cream and Chive Dressing.

Finally, how about the simple pleasure of a Prosecco Dog? The signature fizz of a good time, this popular Italian bubbly is a great match for hot dogs topped with sweet or creamy sauces, such as our Garlic Mayo or Sweet Chilli. Cheers.
